13th Annual
San Juan Island Lavender Festival Highlights
July 19-20, 2014 at Pelindaba Lavender Farm
A wonderful weekend was had by all at our 13th Annual San Juan Island Lavender Festival! The weather cooperated perfectly. The sun shone with just a little bit of cloud creating a uniquely warm light in the fields. The gentle breezes made the blooming lavender flowers dance and carried their sweet fragrance to many a nose.
Beautiful lavender crafts - wands, wreaths, baskets, crowns, tussie mussies and more - were made!
The Cutting Field was open for visitors to harvest their own bouquets of certified organic lavender from the many varieties in bloom.
The fields were open for strolling, exploring and breathtaking photo ops.
Our Lavender Lemonade and Lavender Iced Tea and Coffee were, as always big hits – not to mention our Lavender Cookies and Lavender Ice Cream!
There was much to learn about lavender at the lavender cooking, distillation, cultivation and uses demos.
We were serenaded all weekend by our talented local marimba bands.
