14th Annual Lavender Festival
July 18-19, 2015 at Pelindaba Lavender Farm
A wonderful weekend was had by all at our 14th Annual San Juan Island Lavender Festival! The sun was shining brightly over the fields. In fact, it was quite hot! The lavender loves the heat and many a lavender ice cream and ice cold lavender lemonade were enjoyed by the rest of us.
Many beautiful lavender crafts were made in the craft tent and it was so hot the crayons for the
lavender coloring contest started melting!
There was lots for kids to do as well...face painting, coloring contest and lavender treasure hunting!
The Cutting Field was open for visitors to harvest their own bouquets of certified organic lavender from the many varieties in bloom. Oh, the sweet fragrances!
Lavender fairies frolicked through the blooming lavender fields.
The views were lovely in every direction!
It was hot! Lots of lavender ice cream and ice cold lavender lemonade were consumed all weekend long.
There was much to learn about lavender at the lavender cooking, distillation, cultivation and uses demos.
Relaxation at its finest - massages in fields of blooming lavender!
Kubatana Marimba provided a joyful soundtrack to the festivities throughout the weekend.
It was great fun seeing lots of long-time friends and many new faces at the festival this year.
Thank you for joining us!
See you at the festival next year!
